There are many house shifting services in Dhaka, and most of them look the same on Facebook. The difference shows up on moving day — when a price changes, an almirah gets scratched or nobody takes responsibility. Ask these seven questions before you book.
1. Will you survey my home first?
A serious mover wants to see your items, floors, lift and road access before giving a price. A quotation without a survey is a guess — and guesses usually go up on the day.
2. Is the quotation in writing?
Ask for a written quotation that lists the truck, labour, packing and any technical work like AC fitting. Read what is included and what is not.
3. Is the company registered?
Check for a valid trade licence. Pro Movers BD is registered with Trade Licence TRAD/DNCC/025135/2025 — you can see it on our About page.
4. Who is responsible on the day?
Ask whether a supervisor stays for the whole move. One person who knows your plan, checks every room and answers your calls makes the biggest difference.
5. What packing do you use?
Good packing means bubble wrap and poly for furniture, proper cartons and padding for electronics, and blankets for polished surfaces — not just ropes.
6. Are the team members your own staff?
Trained, uniformed staff who move every day handle furniture better than labour hired at the gate that morning.
7. What are the payment terms?
A small advance to confirm the booking and the rest after the job is completed is fair. Avoid paying the full amount before the move.
