Moving home in Dhaka is easier when the hard decisions are made before the truck arrives. This is the checklist our supervisors give every family we move.
Two weeks before
- Book a free survey visit so the team sees your items, floors, lift and road access. Your quotation is then fixed — no surprises on the day.
- Tell your building caretaker and the new building the moving date and time. Many buildings only allow moving during set hours.
- Decide what you will not take. Selling or donating now means fewer cartons, a smaller truck and a lower price.
One week before
- Start packing things you rarely use: books, seasonal clothes, decoration items.
- Label every carton with the room name. Our team uses these labels to place cartons in the right room at your new home.
- Book AC, geyser and washing machine opening if you need it. Our technicians can open and refit them on the same day.
The day before
- Defrost and dry the fridge.
- Keep jewellery, cash, documents and medicines in one bag that travels with you.
- Charge your phone and keep the supervisor's number handy — you will get it by SMS.
On moving day
- Walk through each room with the supervisor before loading starts.
- Check cupboards and the roof before leaving.
- At the new home, tell the team where the heavy furniture should go before they carry it in.
